Kaizen ACx Powers Remote Commissioning for U.S. Government Facility Upgrade
Kaizen ACx enabled fully remote commissioning of 100 VAVs at a U.S. government facility, completing 1,100 tests, identifying key faults, and supporting issue resolution—without any on-site presence.
Our Challenge
As part of a renovation project, 100 new Variable Air Volume (VAV) units were added to an existing U.S. government facility. The challenge was to commission these units effectively within a secure, operational environment—without disrupting existing systems or requiring on-site presence from CopperTree staff.
Our Solution
Kaizen ACx was deployed remotely during the commissioning stage to automate and validate functional testing of the new VAV systems. The platform performed 1,100 distinct tests across the 100 VAVs, identifying key operational issues such as low airflow, damper leakage, and room temperature control faults.
Our Results
~83% of systems passed all automated tests
Identified and categorized critical faults for targeted remediation
Enabled the installation contractor to resolve issues efficiently
Entire commissioning process was conducted remotely, with no on-site work required by CopperTree
